Antoine LURY is working as Programme Manager within the technical department “Livestock, Animal Health and Veterinary Public Health” of the French NGO “Agronomists and Veterinarians Without Borders” (AVSF). He is specifically in charge of Southeast Asia, One Health and international partnerships. Since July 2019, Antoine is based in Vientiane, Lao PDR, from where he has been actively working with AVSF partners (FAO, OIE, CIRAD, local authorities) to develop appropriate measures to respond and prevent infectious animal diseases (including African Swine Fever) in Southeast Asia by improving smallholders’ biosecurity practices and increasing the resilience of humans, animals and ecosystems to emerging threats (including COVID-19) through the promotion and operationalization of the One Health approach and effective participatory surveillance systems, especially at field level.
