His Federal Research Center of Virology and Microbiology (CVM) in Pokrov (Russia) has used comparative and functional genomic approaches together with animal disease models to define and characterize the role of specific viral and host genes in infection, based on this knowledge developing and producing diagnostic kits and vaccines. CVM is the National Reference Center for African Swine fever in Russia. From 2005 till now he is the Director of Federal Research Center of Virology and Microbiology (CVM) in Pokrov (Russia) and led major research initiatives on foreign animal diseases, pathogen functional genomics and rapid pathogen detection.
